Spiritual Life MINISTRY

Newman Center Campus Ministry

A ministry of St. Mark parish; the Newman Center serves the students, faculty and staff of Eastern Kentucky University. The dedicated facility is conveniently located on the edge of campus right next to Walters Hall accessible from both University Drive and Kit Carson Drive. Along with offering the Sunday Mass at 5:00 p.m. during the academic year; we offer a variety of programs including social gatherings, adult faith formation and service opportunities.

We now have a "GroupMe" Group established.  The easiest way to get connect is to send an email to Alanna at asininger@cdlex.org with your cell phone number and any other contact information you would like to share with us.

CAMPUS RCIA

RCIA - The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is the process whereby adults encounter and develop a relationship with Jesus Christ while they discern becoming disciples in the Catholic Church. The program provides regular opportunities to grow in knowledge about life as a Christian in the Catholic faith and to enter into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. It is during this program and through the power of the Holy Spirit that the individual will discover what it means to become a missionary disciple of Jesus in the Catholic Church and ultimately make the decision whether or not to enter the Catholic Church.

The campus RCIA program is specifically designed for our students of Eastern Kentucky University.  The program is currently led by Dr. Todd Hartch, History Professor at E.K.U. Classes are usually not set before Dr. Hartch meets with interested individuals to understand class schedules and availability. It is typical for classes to be offered during the week to accommodate the students wishes to go home on weekends.

Any E.K.U. students interested in participating in the RCIA program should contact Alanna Sininger either via email or phone  asininger@cdlex.org or 859-623-2989, x 1855.

For any non-students, faculty and staff of EKU interested in RCIA should contact the St. Mark parish office at 859-623-2989.
